“Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counsellors, and the most patient of teachers.” -Charles W. Eliot
A child’s reading skills are important to their success in school as they will allow them to access the breadth of the curriculum and improve their communication and language skills. In addition, reading can be a fun and imaginative time for children, which opens the door to all kinds of new worlds for them. It helps children adjust to their peers, become independent of parents and teachers, select and prepare for an occupation, and achieve social responsibilities.
In order to inculcate reading habits in students, Vydehi School of Excellence has organized a ‘Reading Program’ in which the entire school has participated on Monday, 14th November, 2022. Students were asked to bring a book that they have read or any other book of their own choice. The students of all the grades & sections enthusiastically participated in the activity. The teachers also participated in this program by reading a book or newspaper. Such programs play an important role in helping to keep the students interested in books.
