Annual Sports Meet – FINESTRA SUL MONODO

“TALENT WIN GAMES, BUT TEAM WORK AND PERSEVERANCE WINS CHAMPIONSHIP”

Keeping up the spirit Vydehi School Of Excellence celebrated The Annual Sports Meet- FINESTRA SUL MONODO – Window to the world of Sports on 13th January, 2018. The day was marked as a journey of self-discovery for each child in the field of Sports.

The Guests and Parents were welcomed with the sound of jingling cymbals- lezim and dholki,which involving many calisthenic moves with vigorous physical exercise and drill , repeating and changing the sequence of step. Boys and girls of grade 4 dressed in white angarkha and saffron bands presented the lezim dance.

The Sports Day commenced with the traditional Tourch Run by our students Pavan sakti, Neeti Agarwal, Shubam, Vindyachavali, Manan, Kajal and Arya Hariharan.

The sports meet was declared open by release of balloons our Advisor Madam, Ms Laly Mathew, our Principal Madam Ms. Sinia Sajith and Ms Anitha Bhaskaran – Principal Vydehi School followed by March past and Oath taking ceremony . A well co-ordinated march past is a feast to the eyes and ears, coupled with some stirring marching music. Each house leaders (Avantika, Indraprastha, Takshila & Nalanda) demonstrated the spectacular view of their heel march by digging their heel to the ground, with toes pointed upwards and arms swinging rhythmically. Yoga is all about finding expression to life. The students showed the perfect balance of body, mind and spirit in the various yoga formations.The Parents and students enjoyed the various athletic events: 
Kalaripayattu (pronounced as Kalarippayatt) is a martial art, which originated as a style in Kerala, southern India (North Malabar). The Grade 5 students demonstrated the techniques, combination of steps (Chuvatu) and postures (Vadivu) in their formation. The audience were thrilled with the performance.

Mass Drill : Mass Drill is a bodily activity that enhances or maintains physical fitness and overall health and wellness. The secondary students performed in a synchronized way on the Saree Drill. They formed flowers, waves and mats and reflected the wonderful coordination.

FLAGS : A FLUTTER
 
The national flag which is the pride of every Indian has been chosen to strike the chords of patriotism. Around 275 children from grade 2 participated in this formation. The Students formed six small circles-two saffron, two white and two green circles. the six circles represent the six auxiliary disciplines in vedic culture that developed in ancient times. the disciplines are shiksha, chhandas, vyakarana, nirukta, kalpa and jyotisha. The students mesmerize the audience with their tricolor performance.

“Champions are made from something inside them – a desire, a dream, a vision”, Talent win games, but teamwork and intelligence win championship. All our champions were awarded with medal and trophies for their victory.
