Exercise also offers mental health benefits as it is an excellent outlet for students to deal with stressors and has been shown to reduce the risk of mood disorders and anxiety. The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted our normal routines. At a time when stress and anxiety are at all-time highs for many emergency responders, maintaining a regime of physical fitness can provide some benefits to help mitigate those stressors. Sports and physical activity often result in improved self-esteem.
