The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in one positive thing: a much greater appreciation for the importance of schools and teachers. As parents struggle to work with their children at home due to school closures, recognition of the essential caretaking role the schools play in society has skyrocketed. As young people struggle to learn from home, parents’ gratitude for teachers, their skills, and their invaluable role in student well-being, has risen.
We, at Vydehi School of Excellence welcomed our Grade 9&10 students back to a traditional face to face school after a hiatus of almost 18 months. Though the numbers were less, the spirits were high. The day was planned for the acclimatization of the students to break the online routine. Interactive sessions by the Principal, Vice Principal and Counselor made the students comfortable. They were briefed upon the SOPs and the importance of adherence to COVID protocols. Teachers by passed the normal route of teaching and conducted activities on “Swachhata” stressing on the importance of social distancing and other safety guidelines.
We are looking forward to a seamless and joyous offline transition.
