As rightly quoted by Ralph Waldo Emerson, an American essayist and a poet, Speech is the power to persuade, to convert and to compel.
We organised an English debate competition on the topic – “Is Urbanization destroying the Environment?” on 06-07-19, for the middle school students of grade 5 to 8. There were 8 finalists short – listed for the final round. It was worth – enjoying and learning for the audience listening to the speakers speaking both ‘for’ and ‘against’ the topic. The session was a kaleidoscope of opinions, thoughts, ideas and perspectives that definitely enhanced the knowledge and understanding of the topic among students.
Sahana of grade 7 was adjudged as the best speaker and secured the 1st position.
Saketh Ram of grade 5 was awarded the second position and
Edwin of grade 7 secured the 3rd position.
