TOPIC:-DISCOVERY DELIGHT  (INDIVIDUAL ACTIVITY) – BIODIVERSITY EXPLORATION

Biodiversity refers to the wide array of living species on Earth and their remarkable variations, essential for sustaining life. India, with its diverse landscapes from the Himalayas to coastal areas, harbors a wealth of flora and fauna crucial for ecological balance and human livelihoods. However, climate change, conservation, and sustainable development pose critical challenges. Rising temperatures, erratic rainfall, and extreme weather endangered habitats and species. Efforts to protect ecosystems and promote sustainability are underway, focusing on sustainable land use, wildlife protection, and habitat restoration amidst threats like urbanization, deforestation, pollution, and habitat loss.

Biodiversity is the bedrock of India’s natural wealth, contributing to its cultural heritage and economic growth. Climate change and the need for sustainable development present a dual challenge, demanding concerted efforts from governments, businesses, and individuals. By embracing sustainable practices, engaging in public-private partnerships, and raising awareness, India can secure its biodiversity for future generations while addressing the global climate crisis.

“Be a hero for a better world” keeping that in mind Our Grade 6 students expressed their imagination and their creative thinking in the form of art on the Topic, “Discovery Delight”. as a Co-curricular activity.

Students collected information about a wildlife sanctuary including its location, size, habitat types and notable species and presented it through photos, drawings, graphs, on a chart. This activity not only enhanced their investigation and imaginative skills but also helped them to be creative.
