GRADE 7 ART INTEGRATED ACTIVITY (ART, MATH, HISTORY)
“Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has ever known.” – Oscar Wilde
Art has the power to transform, to illuminate, to educate, to inspire and to motivate. Arts Integration is an approach to teaching, that encourages students to demonstrate their understanding of a concept through an art form. Ensured to promote the development of creativity, this approach connects art with the subject matter at hand and allows students to apply what they have learned.
Taking this into account, grade 7 students of Vydehi school Of Excellence have integrated Art, Mathematics and History to learn how congruent triangles can be used to create art form. They depicted the lifestyle of early human beings, by creating animals, human beings, their village, their utensils, their instruments etc using Warli Art, in which congruent triangles are used. They made equilateral triangles of different sizes and made human, animals and figures out of it.
By exploring how congruent triangles can be used to create art, students learned how to connect Warli art with concept of congruence. They were able to develop the skill of Interior Designing. They zealously participated in the activity.
