Elocution is a speech competition where students are allotted with a topic to talk about. Usually, all participants talk about the same topic and the one who gave good speech is selected as a winner of elocution competition. Todays’ topic was TIME AND TIDE WAIT FOR NONE, performed and participated by many 7th graders. Students thoroughly enjoyed and gave a tough competition to each other.
Students talked about how ‘Time and tide wait for none’ is an old English proverb that means that both time and tide are uncontrollable, that is they can’t be stopped or deflected in any way; therefore, one must perform his duties considering the fact that time once lost, can’t be gained back.
