A poet is, before anything else, a person who is passionately in love with language.
For the CCA, grade 7 was asked to write a poem on Havildar K Palani from Ramanathapuram has been honoured with the Vir Chakra (posthumously) for his sacrifice during ‘Operation Snow Leopard’ while defending the nation in the India-China stand-off at Galwan valley in Eastern Ladakh on June 15, 2020. This made the students aware of not only the sacrifice and bravery of a valiant K. Pilani and how and what did he do but also about the gallantry award presented to him. Poetry is a form of expression. Writing it lets us get out our feelings and thoughts on a subject while reading it encourages us to connect and find meaning in our experiences. Poetry can have a positive impact on the social and emotional learning of children. It may offer them a new way of thinking about something. Poetry is a form of expression. Co-curricular activities is a fun way to make the students learn about something from their mundane routine which helps them to understand better and at the same time, enjoyable too.
