“What people do not understand, they do not value; what they do not value, they will not protect, and what they do not protect, they will lose.” — Charles Jordan.
From an agricultural standpoint, we want children to be knowledgeable about local agriculture so they will appreciate it and want to preserve it. By leaving the traditional classroom behind, Our school offered an opportunities to learn about the natural environment through conversations with farmers, and interaction with crops, crows, chickens, and bees. The School made a trip to Agricultural farm in the month of October this year. The one day trip took all the students from grade 8 to 10 and teachers to the A R Agricultural farm, Kanakpura Road, Bangalore. A R Agricutural farm is an organic and biodynamic vegetable and livestock farm. Their education and outreach programs for children strive to raise awareness of the importance of agriculture in our daily lives. The students and teachers revelled in the austerity and it left all feeling younger, rejuvenated and energized.By the end of the trip, the children gained a passion for agriculture and a better understanding of their agricultural community. The hands-on experiential learning environment a farm provided is invaluable to the children’s educational growth. Students learned about the value of farming, experiencing first-hand the production of food from seed to table.
