Road safety is a great subject to engage children and young people. If approached in the right way, students often enjoy and get a lot from studying and campaigning for road safety because it is an issue they can understand and that affects them. It’s vitally important to help shape children and young people’s understanding and attitude towards road safety. It helps to give them the best chance of keeping safe while they’re young and as they get older.
Keeping this in mind an Awareness program on Traffic was organized on Wednesday, 21st December 2022, in Children Traffic Park, Bengaluru. Few students from middle school of Vydehi School of Excellence have participated in the program under the guidance& leadership of ASI SomaSekhar, Whitefiled Traffic Police Station. The program concentrated on the errors which the vehicle driver and pillion riders make highlighting the reasons to avoid risky driving. They stressed that two-wheeler or four-wheeler drivers should follow the road safety rules, wear a helmet, etc., By following the safety rules the number of accidents can be contained and further save human lives. They reiterated that wearing ISI helmet is recommended. The program also disclosed the new traffic violation fine structure.
This awareness program inspired students to act responsibly on the road and make Indian roads the safest in the world.
